Form Follows Formulation

For Aesop’s first partnership with Salone del Mobile, a series of sensorial installations were presented across Milan, with the centrepiece being their latest store on Piazza Cordusio, which was transformed by Nicolas Schuybroek ahead of its official opening.

Inspired by the Arte Povera movement from the late 1960–70s with its focus on the use of humble, everyday materials, Aesop Bar Soaps were used as the primary material. The bars were meticulously ordered in grid formation, within which small rectangular cavities guided viewers to films devoted to sensorial worlds. The space led on to a mysterious central point that acted as a stage for performative experiences throughout Salone del Mobile.
